Using this word, the company's products represent futuristic, modern technology inventions/products as the answer for the needs of consumers.

ReplyDeleteMe and some of my friends just went through your proposal and I'm gonna tell you our overall comments:
Before that, I want to say that our comments are based on our own understanding from reading your proposal: We see that what the concept wants to cover are technological/industrial features and fashion features. So the logo need to be able to express these adjectives: innovative but not too serious, too advanced/abstract, flexible but not too relaxing and daring to the audience's taste.
The expectation explained as above can be confused too you. Let us process to the comments:
1. The "not okay don't you dare using them" logos: 1 and 4
2. The "meh okay can lah" logos: 2 3 5 7
3. The "usable" logos but also have some concern: 6 8 9
Now to the three logos that we agreed on to be "usable:
1. Number 6 looks innovative, but the line seems a bit too thin to show off any fashion-related features.
2. Number 8 looks quite odd, but when we thought about it, it has something worth mentioning: The bold font makes its overall visual weight presentable, which means it would stand out as a separated being when being printed out on magazine, poster,... .The triangle shapes makes it look quite odd, but can be related to the cut of clothing, which compromised with the font.
3. Number 9 has a decent visual weight, the overall wide shape of each letters can represent the technology part of the concept. The line thickness is fine, but there are not enough curves in the font, making it less flexible and balanced as from what we expected from your concept.
Here are some suggestions:
1. You can finalize your design on the product first, after that it would be easier for you to see the mood/direction of the company you want to design your logo for as now you had the product as a guide.
2. If you want to work with either idea number 6 or 9, I suggest you to be mindful of the thickness and the curviness of the font as well.
3. If you have time you should come up with more ideas on the font. If you have even more time to do this thoroughly you should do research/brainstorming carefully on what you want your company and its logo to be. (if you have time lol)
I think thats all I can say for now. You are really hard working person and with that I think your final of everything will be among the best if you stay with this speed. Good luck to your work! Be healthy as well!

Delete1. The product (all-in-one hat) is only one line of product from one sister company from the overall big company that is Lantas. So it doesn't have to visually link to the product at all. Think of Lantas Company as Uniqlo meets Elon Musk, so it's definitely more tech than wearables though all the products are wearable/fashion related.
2. Thank you for the suggestions! I will definitely come up with more variations once the choice has been narrowed down. I'm curious though, why do you think all the lowercase samples don't work? Could you elaborate on that more clearly?
3. My thoughts when I came up with the seven samples above is Lantas Co. Ltd is a very big company that oversees a lot of smaller sister companies with a wide range of products, so I resorted to make it quite plain and minimalistic, as the 'specialty' of the company is very wide. I would make more subtle variations once the designs have been filtered, but if what I put out miss the mark that far then I will do an overhaul and design a new batch from scratch.

For the reason why the lowercase designs don't work in our eyes, it's because most of them don't have the necessary amount of visual impact as a whole, basically they don't impress us overall, or even notify us that those designs are logos at first sight. To us they look like a bunch of text in different font.
2. There is another pretty obvious reason is that the lowercase of letter "L" looks like the uppercase of the letter "i" or can even be seen as the normal character of the letter "i" as well, pretty confusing right?
